Hi everyone,
I'm currently trying to track down the original copy of the Columbian Register which contains the poem 'The Broken Heart' by James Gates Percival. Judging from when it starts appearing in other sources, I think this poem must have been published either in 1821 or 1822.
As this poem has a very interesting afterlife, being reprinted in newspapers in South Africa and Australia, I'd be really grateful for any information anyone could provide on its original publication source (as far as I can see The Columbian Register isn't currently on any digital repositories of nineteenth century newspapers).
Many thanks in advance for your help.
Best wishes,
Lara
