If you are researching a particular topic and want to check in on the use of certain tags by NINES users, you can subscribe to that tag by RSS feed. Plug it in to your preferred feed reader, and you'll get updates whenever the tag has been applied to new objects!
For example, if I were a student working on a class project on the American Civil War, I might subscribe to the feed of this tag to stay on top of the activity of other students, as well as scholars in that field. To do so, just click the orange radio button next to the number of objects at the top of the page and paste that link into Google Reader or Bloglines.
Happy searching!
