Summer Institute notes

Institute faculty member Amy Earhart listens to a discussion on Evidence & Discovery in humanities scholarship

Over the past week a group of 30-some scholars, administrators and other members of the academic community have gathered at the Jefferson Scholars Foundation building at the University of Virginia, with the goal of examining the difficulties of evaluating digital scholarship. Our conversations ranged from the high-level, conceptual issues in understanding modes of working in digital media as well as institutional strategies for explaining the unique difficulties in Digital Humanities work to administrators. It was a fantastic group, and we’ve assembled a number of working documents to be edited and released in the coming months, in order to share our realizations and conclusions.

Thanks to everyone who attended!
